How To: Kichiku Megane

Process of installing the BL game Kichiku Megane (鬼畜眼鏡) by Spray, and installing its partial english patch, on Windows7.


*Note: before beginning installation make sure your System Locale is set to Japanese.

0. Run your game Disc1 on your BD-rom drive; OR mount the Disc1 image file (iso, ccd, bin, etc) on daemontools. ★How To: Mount image files


1. An Autoplay window will pop-out. Click Run Autorun_rlsmm.exe.


2. A window will pop out, click the セットアップ button.


3. A 鬼畜眼鏡セットアップ window will pop out. *You can change the install location & install mode here, I suggest you choose full install so you can play the game without running the disc. Click the セットアップを開始します button (Start Setup).

A confirmation window will pop out. Click YES.


4. Installation progress window will pop-out. Wait for it to do its business.
Then a window will pop out asking you for Disc2, so run your Disc2 or mount it (like how you did for Disc1), and click OK. *It will install the remaining data it needs.


5. A final window will pop-out informing you about installation completion. Click OK.


6. The DirectX setup window will follow up, but if you have the latest DirectX (9 and above), just click CANCEL.

The game menu window will pop out & you can finally play the game!

You can start the game by going to its installed folder - MEGANE, & clicking (or double-clicking) on the REALLIVE.EXE.

■■For the partial English patch installation.
Extract the patch file (.zip or .rar) using 7z, you'll see a 000 Common + 500 folder, inside it will be the .txt files you need. Copy (or cut) them all and paste them inside the game's MEGANE folder.

Then normally start the game!

It seems Kichiku Megane does not create its own desktop shortcut(?). You can manually create one by going to its installed folder (MEGANE), right click on the REALLIVE.EXE & choose Create Shortcut. You can also change the Icon image by right-clicking on the shortcut >> choose Properties, under the Shortcut tab - click Change Icon.. button then browse for the megane.ico (it is inside the MEGANE folder) & choose that.

Also, it seems it does not list itself on the Programs and Features, so Disc1 should be run/mounted when you want to uninstall.
