How To: Mount image files (.mds, .mdx, .iso, etc.) using DaemonTools Lite 5.

Mounting .mds, .mdx, .iso, etc image files using Daemon Tools, on Windows7
These image files are mostly backups of softwares from cds/dvds/bds.
*DaemonTools can also mount the following image files (.b5t, .b6t .bwt, .ccd, .cue .isz .nrg .cdi .ape, .flac, .bin, .img)

Daemon Tools Lite is free & you can get it there: DAEMON Tools Lite 5

*Remember, always scan the files first using your antivirus before doing anything with it just to be safe & clean (^w^).

Before doing the methods below you should do this first.

Open DaemonTools. Click the Preferences >> Integration - on the File Associations list, the filenames there should be checked/selected (except for APE & FLAC, these are audio image files & VLC can open them) so you will be able to mount files instantly by double-clicking. Don't forget to click the APPLY button. *NOTE: .bin & .img files aren't on the File Associations list but these can still be mounted using method C below.

You can mount files using any method below:

A. Double-clicking the file (.iso, .mds, .ccd, etc.) will mount it instantly on daemontools. (The file should have a DaemonTools icon beside it like this - DT icon. If there isn't, do the Integration settings first.)

B. Right-click on the file (.iso, .mds, .ccd, etc.) then choose OPEN, and it will be mounted instantly on DT.

C. Open Daemon Tools, on the lower panel Right-click on the virtual-drive icon (DT or SCSI) then choose Mount. An Open window will pop-out, search & choose your file from there then click OPEN button. (If you don't see any virtual-drive icon, you can add one by clicking the Add DT Virtual Drive icon. *see Daemon Tools interface below for info.)

All methods listed above will result in the file being mounted, hence an AutoPlay window will pop-up.

END! (^W^)

Daemon Tools interface:

0. Image Catalog - This is very useful if you have to mount 2 or more files, you can add them here for quick mount file selection list.
1. Add Image - Add files on the Image Catalog.
2. Remove Item(s) - Removes highlighted files on the Image Catalog. *You can also press the DELETE button on your keyboard while the files are highlighted in the Image Catalog to remove them. Don't worry your files won't be deleted from your PC, they will only be removed from the Image Catalog (^w^).
3. Mount - Highlighted file in the Image Catalog will be mounted on the virtual-drive.
4. Unmount - File currently mounted on a highlighted virtual-drive will be unmounted.
5. Unmount All Drives - If you have multiple virtual-drives and all have files mounted on them, this will quickly unmount them all.
6. Add DT Virtual Drive - Creates a DT virtual-drive where you can mount files. DT is Daemon Tool's default virtual drive. (I frequently use this for all my mounts (^w^).*
7. Add SCSI Virtual Drive - Creates a SCSI virtual-drive where you can mount files. SCSI uses SPTD driver to mount "protected" files.*
*You can create up to 4 DT & SCSI virtual-drives = DTLite versions.
8. Remove Virtual Drive - Removes highlighted virtual-drive.
9. Make Disc Image - Creates a virtual image file from your dvd/cd discs. This is best used when backing up scratched-up & overused discs.
10. Burn Image with Astroburn - Copies your backed up virtual files on a blank dvd or cd disc. This feature needs a cd/dvd recorder, & Astroburn should be installed.
12. Help - help menu ofc!! XDD
13. Buy a Pro version of DT.

*Right-clicking on the files in the Image Catalog, & on the virtual-drive icons will list down similar options.
