How To: Mount, Unmount Image files; Add, Remove Virtual Drives on DaemonTools Lite 10

Process of Mounting and Unmounting Image files; Adding and Removing Virtual Drives on DaemonTools Lite 10.

DaemonTools is uber easy to use and it has a free version as well so I prefer to use this when installing bl or otome games ^w^ | Get the Lite version because it's free XD. Visit their site: DAEMONTools

When you need to mount image files (.b5t, .b6t .bwt, .ccd, .cue .isz .nrg .cdi .bin, .img) on Daemontools you first need to add a Virtual Drive.

Adding A Virtual Drive

1. Open Daemontools. Below you'll see a section where the "Quick Mount" is located.
Right-click on anywhere inside that horizontal section, then choose "Add drive"

2. Add drive information and options will be listed on the right.
Your options should be to:
Choose 1 Virtual Drive type (DT, SCSI, or IDE).
When you choose SCSI or IDE you have to install SPTD drive online first; so I suggest choosing DT - no installation of whatsoever needed.

Select Mount to "Drive" and don't forget to select a Drive Letter available on the drop-down list.

¤ DVD Region & Mount to 'Folder' are optional (I suggest not to mess with them for now XD;).
When you have chosen your preferred options click the "Add Drive" button.

3. You'll notice a new square icon will appear beside "Quick Mount", that would be the new Virtual Drive that has been added (it's currently empty/unmounted).

♪♪ If you need to add more virtual drives just do the same procedure above.

Now we can finally mount image files!

Mounting an Image file

*Remember, always scan the files first using your antivirus before doing anything with it just to be safe & clean (^w^).*

1. Right-click on the square Virtual Drive icon (which is currently empty/unmounted), and choose "Mount"

2. An Open window will appear. You can browse and choose your image file from there. Click "Open" button when done.

The image file will now be mounted into the virtual drive. The virtual drive's square icon {empty/unmounted} will change into a circle icon {mounted}.

3. And an AutoPlay window will pop out.

♪♪ If you need to mount more than one image file: add another virtual drive, then do the same mounting procedure.

After using the image file, it's time to unmount it.

Unmounting an Image file

1. Open Daemontools. Right-click on the virtual drive's circle icon {mounted}, and choose "Unmount".
The image file will now be unmounted.

You can also remove the virtual drive/s you have added without any problem.
I suggest unmounting the image file first before removing the virtual drive.

Removing a Virtual Drive
• There are 2 ways (A or B) of removing a virtual drive. (these are the ways I know of, but there maybe more XDD)

0. Open Daemontools window.

A. Hover over the virtual drive's square icon, a red X button will show-up.
Click that X button and the virtual drive will be removed immediately.

/OR/

B. Right-click on the virtual drive's square icon, then choose "Remove". The virtual drive will be removed.

For easy mounting, don't forget to set Daemontool's Integration option.
After setting it up, you can easily mount image files by just double-clicking them.

*The procedure below is really similar to the older version of Daemontools.
1. Open DaemonTools, click the Preferences icon (the gear-looking icon).
2. A Preferences window will pop-out. Click on Integration tab, and it will show a File associations list. All the image file extensions there should be checked/selected except for ZIP, & CUE*.

//
*
Some bl game image files are .cue, but since .cue is categorized with APE & FLAC {which are audio image files, VLC should open them} you have to uncheck it from the list.
//* .bin is also categorized with .cue on the list. Even so these image files can still be mounted using the mounting process above.
