The game follows Vincent, a salaryman who one day bumps into a mysterious 22-year-old woman called Catherine. Later that night, he begins to have nightmares which transports him into a world of unending staircases. In order to escape from his recurring nightmares, Vincent has to keep on reaching the top of the staircase.

Living in between being single and being married, so-called "The second moratorium/第2のモラトリアム", a selfish condition. However, due to the encounter with the mysterious and beautiful Catherine, his life drastically changes.
